Does anyone have any information or reviews for the Wellgood loop antenna? It is claimed to be a reverse engineered Wellbrook replacement.

Yes I know that link. The man had a Wellbrook that needed repair. The company was already out of business. So he had a friend x-ray the potted amp and he and some friends reversed engineered the circuit and recreated the amp and bias T circuits. That was the beginning of the Wellgood antenna. It’s now up to version 4 and getting some good reviews. The amp and bias T sells for £62.20 including VAT to the US. All that is needed is enclosures and the loop itself

Well I went ahead and pulled the trigger on this. I also purchased 10 feet of 1/2” copper tubing for the loop. I hope that I can get this put together. I’m just now starting to get back on my feet after four abdominal surgeries and nearly seven months in the hospital. I also have another radio project I was documenting on my forum before I got sick, that I need to get back to. I’m still not 100 percent yet but I am getting better daily.

No reviews of the WellGOOD but I do have the Wellbrook for 0-30 Mhz and it's an excellent antenna for BCB or SWL... to use it to is maximum capability you need to be able to rotate the antenna to null out competing signals/noise, and maximize the desired signal... unless you can do that while sitting down with the antenna next to you then you will need a motorized antenna rotator setup, which I have. It's fine if you are locked in to one station for a while, but for band scanning it's a pain in the b&tt... most of the time I just use by 100ft random wire or 250' sky loop, both are on a two way antenna switch and I can use which one gives the best signal.
