Its good to have another person from Logan Couty on here creekrat. The pro 95 should work fine for Logan County. Make sure you have these frequencies in your scanner www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=RR&ctid=3019

I am a Mining Engineer; residing in Morgantown since '99.
I am relatively new to scanning, although I have been listening on my beginners unit (Uniden bc248clt) for several years now. It has served its purpose, but I am looking to go mobile and the P25 system seems to be shaking out quite nicely.
I believe that the only agencies in my area that I listen to (LEO, EMS & Fire) patch the channel back to analog frequencies that I can pick up; so I will keep reading and weighing whether I should go with a digital/trunking capable unit or not. (I am open for suggestions from anyone in my area - I am thinking about just picking up a Pro97)
This is a great resource and community. I have a lot to learn, but it is nice to have individuals, on a board like this, that are more than willing to help. You guys (and gals) provides a great service to many people across the country and the camaraderie is second to none.
Thank you

My first scanner in Massachussetts was a Tennelec 14-ch xtal piece of (ahem) equipment, MUCH later a RS Pro-2021, a sometimes-working Pro-51 handheld and now a Pro-2096. The state of the art definitely marches on. Thanks to all for the informative and helpful posts. I hope that I'll be able to pay back as time goes on. 73.
