I can't really afford anything like a scanner now, but back in May I came close to getting a 325.

I remember giving you RID's earlier in the year. Everyone knows I'm big on RID's. I heard that the 325 has limits to the amount of RID's and talkgroups etc it can take.

What's the limit with the 325?

Should anything happen to any of my current scanners if my 396 went down, I'd consider a 325. If my 436 or HP1 Goes belly up it might be time for a SDS.

Again my mobile on the go while walking and biking is the 396 and I'd like something small to take with me on the go

@EJB not sure about the 325 for RIDS. I actually do that on my 436 so I can input them and have it show up for TFS. I've got a decent collection of Toronto Fire going now.

Man, I really miss the pre amalgamation days when Toronto fire had a dispatch , a few tac channels, and the stations were easy to remember, 28 or 29 was for Eglinton West and Chaplin and the other was a Yonge between Lawrence and EG.

Easy to follow

Ok for Steve and Mike:

There is a good deal of construction in and around my area, big projects. I'm unable to figure out what systems are being used for the 3 different projects at King and Queen but I'd love to hear when the workers talk with the cranes. I've done many searches in the 469 MHz area but haven't heard what I'm looking for.

I'd like to thank anyone who has responded and hope I hear and see more responses.

For construction I would try searching the 150.000 to 160.000 range. I'm hearing a crane on 151.625 in the Detroit area. I also hear a S-61 lift chopper use that freq also. Recently caught an Ericson S-64 Skycrane using 151.925 in Hamtramck, MI.

I'm hiding under a bridge somewhere in Ontario. I prefer not to hand out my specific location. My tin foil hat may not be enough protection LOL.

I've been wanting to make up this list for a while now, so this thread got me to getting on it. I've also touched base on this in another similar thread as well. This is all custom programmed in my 436HP bells, whistles, lights, hold times, delays, priorities all of it. I have not included the rest of the systems that I have programmed in for other parts of the province, but I'm basically ready at the helm for any travel trip across Ontario but I think you'll have an idea as to the jist of how my programming goes.

This has worked quite well for me the past few years and at this point basically have all my systems memorized so I can turn on/off favourites or systems with the touch of a few buttons. ex. 0.0, 0.1, 1.0, 1.1, 2.0, 2.1, 2.2 etc...

When people say there's not much out there to listen too (Usually the folks that lose there local police etc..) I tend to beg to differ on this. Believe me, there's plenty out there to listen to.

This is a condensed version of my custom programming. :)

I listen to the voices in my head :).

Actually I listen to just about everything from Fleetnet to local FRS users. If it has an antenna I usually check it out to see whats what.
I listen to my wife telling me what to do and what I did wrong!

Downtown Ottawa is very much the same. While I haven't been down there using the 436 just portable, I was there while mobile and it was horrible for signals able to cut through in some systems.

I have more grief than anything in downtown Toronto. So many spots where I’ll have 5 bars of reception and it can’t get a peep through with all the interference.

I'm absolutely thrilled that so many people have responded and added about what we scan.

Santa was berry berry good to me this year and I got a SDS100 as a gift!

So, on a normal day I have the SDS100, the 436, both scanning either or FleetNet and Halton's system. The HomePatrol I use for a lot of recording, and when not recording I stick it on a Larson and monitor towers like Brantford, Mowat, Britannia, etc.

The 396T is generally in my bedroom, I sometimes take it mobile with me.

I have a Motorola radio that is great on Halton's system,

My racing scanner I use occasionally for analog FleetNet, or I use it to run Unitrunker.

My Pro 2025 does air stuff and sometimes I use it to run Unitrunker or Trunk 88.

I'm incredibly blessed to have all these radios,

Let's hope that the new radio system now being tested in Windsor take a loooooonggggg time to be implemented here!
