Try setting the system and site quick keys to 1. All need to be the same. If you set the sites to different numbers, the site is looking for the corresponding system with that number..
Why don't you read the friend's scanner (assuming it is a 996 or 325) into Freescan then upload that programming into yours?Hey guys.
Tried both your suggestions, still have no reception on the radio. I was sitting with one of my buddies and his radio was chatting away crystal clear. Even after I left mine still sat silent.
I ended up biting the bullet, I’ve ordered a Mini USB 5 pin to RS232 Serial cable so I can hopefully Master/Slave clone off his tomorrow.
Once that’s done I’ll likely download the scanner’s programming and compare it to mine to see where I was wrong.
In the mean time if anyone else has further suggestions they’d be greatly appreciated…
Thanks!
They are not simulcast sites, so can rule that out of the equation.I suspect it is likely simulcast distortion, but if your friend has the same scanner, same antenna, same location and his works then this is how you would be sure it is not your programming.
I didn't expect the scanner to work if we were sitting beside each other - we work different sides of our town, there's no way they're interfering. Also, my friend is the same as me - his scanners allow him to make money, no way he'll let me take it out of his truck to Download. Like I said earlier, gonna try a Master/Slave clone tomorrow and then download and review. Why don't you read the friend's scanner (assuming it is a 996 or 325) into Freescan then upload that programming into yours?

The Talkgroups I have locked out are the ones I dont want to listen to. The most important talk group for my service area will be 2055, which I've kept open, but I want to scan the others too.Took another look at your screenshots. Noticed on page 2, that there are 3 talk groups locked out.
Those wouldn't be the areas your trying to listen too?
Does it make a difference? I checked the band plans in the scanner and they all look the exact same as they did in the program. To resolve curiosity, I will go into the scanner later and manually re-enter all of the King city site band plan and see if it makes a difference. You will need to enter the band plan MANUALLY in the scanner. Using the software won't work... I had the same issue.
If I was to enter these manualy, how do I enter the offset? There's been a few people with bandplan issues. You may need to enter it manually.
Code:Bandplan #0: Base=136.005 Offset=-4.02 Spacing=7.5 BW=12.5 Bandplan #1: Base=136.005 Offset=-4.02 Spacing=7.5 BW=12.5 Slots=2 Bandplan #2: Base=136.005 Offset=-4.05 Spacing=7.5 BW=12.5 Bandplan #3: Base=136.005 Offset=-4.05 Spacing=7.5 BW=12.5 Slots=2 Bandplan #4: Base=136.005 Offset=-2.235 Spacing=7.5 BW=12.5 Bandplan #5: Base=136.005 Offset=-2.235 Spacing=7.5 BW=12.5 Slots=2 Bandplan #6: Base=136.005 Offset=-2.145 Spacing=7.5 BW=12.5 Bandplan #7: Base=136.005 Offset=-2.145 Spacing=7.5 BW=12.5 Slots=2 Bandplan #12: Base=769.000 Offset=+30 Spacing=6.25 BW=12.5 Bandplan #13: Base=769.000 Offset=+30 Spacing=6.25 BW=12.5 Slots=2 Bandplan #14: Base=851.0625 Offset=-45 Spacing=6.25 BW=12.5 Bandplan #15: Base=851.0625 Offset=-45 Spacing=6.25 BW=12.5 Slots=2

my 536 does not have a place for the offset
Is it possible that the scanner firmware needs to be updated and that would be causing the issue? I’ve never updated firmware on any of my scanners
Anyone have any more ideas before I give up?
