Just curious, given all the encrypted channels these days, what are you listening to in the OKC area during winter weather like we are supposedly about to have?

Since this is pretty much a statewide event I know OHP, ODOT, OTA, and all county and city road departments are going to be extremely busy. I'm focusing on more emergency management. So far I've heard on OKWIN Tulsa Site...

SMA-1B 1987 National Guard doing radio tests.
SEMA-3 2681 State EOC talking to unidentified units in the field possibly National Guard.
OHP-ES-COMM 2603 not sure which dispatch center was talking possibly Troop A OKC, but definitely doing radio checks to several units in the field.

I'll report back more later as the event unfolds. Everyone stay safe out there.

I heard them dispatch a National Guard unit to help a stranded motorist last night. Kind of laughed because they ended every transmission with "Over".

Yep, standard Army radio 'etiquette'. It's the military version of a roger beep, beaten into every recruit, very early on.
