Anyone know what PSN stands for? This is in San Jose California.

I often hear it in the context of the officer gives the dispatcher a name, and then the dispatcher says something like "negative PSN" or "PSN no match".

When PSN comes back with a match, it's usually followed by a list of prior arrests or convictions. So obviously PSN is a bad thing but I can't figure out what it stands for.

It's more than likely, PFN, personal file number.

You get one if you have a criminal record.

Oh you're right. When I search on PFN then I can find the Santa Clara County Person File Number page. I always thought they were saying PSN. Thanks

In San Francisco they call it an "SF number." Different counties use different records management and CAD software systems to access the same type of information.
