I'm completely new to air band listening. I don't live close enough to an air port to be able to hear the tower or anything so my question is what frequency should I listen to to hear some in air stuff? I've checked some websites but never had any luck with the frequencies...

I live in East Tennessee, if they use certain frequencies in certain areas, or if that helps

You can also go to airnav.com and enter the name of your town and surrounding towns. The info page for each airport will show the frequencies in use in those areas. Enter the frequencies for Knoxville too. You may not be able to hear the tower but you should be able to hear flights on their way to and from there.

Well just short of searching from 118-136 MHz (AM), which is a great idea as is the checking of the data on airnav.com another great source of information is right here...
