As posted above, what radio system(s) should I expect on the Norwegian Escape

No reports that I am aware of for the Escape.
But alas with much moving to DMR I would plan on that and most of the reports for NCL have been basic (Not CON or CAP+) repeater and simplex DMR

I got off the NCL Bliss 2 weeks ago before it went into dry dock in France. I get on again tomorrow to head back to Miami.
This is what I found for the brief time I had the scanner on
Freq CC TG SL
457.525 12 1 2
457.575 13 1 2
457.600 14 1 2

Interesting, prior reports have 5250 as CC:11 not CC:12

Does Norwegian allow radio equipment? I was on a Royal Caribbean cruise over the summer, and they prohibit passengers having radio equipment. (Cellular phones are allowed, obviously.) If you can take a modern scanner, that has DMR & NXDN options, it might be easier to figure things out.

YMMV is the best suggestion and always go to the Cruise Lines own Website
See item #32

I've encountered both aspects and my last cruise, no one questioned the PSR500 in the Camera Bag

Yes, some are now not allowing FRS/GMRS Radios

I let my Uniden SDS100 run and record when we were on the Norwegian Escape. I am reviewing some recordings now. It looks like Color Code 7 was used on the common UHF frequencies TGID 1 was the busiest that I found.

I was on the Escape last month and logged the following:

There is a DMR "Single Channel" system running with what looks like redundancy. The first two and the last two frequencies would key up at the same time with radio traffic.

457.525 CC 7
457.550 CC 7

457.75 CC 6
457.600 CC 6

The only talk group I was able to log was TG 1 which I assume is for maintenance.

I sat outside the MDR during lunch service and picked up two frequencies. I'm sure the other dining areas are also use frequencies in this same range a few steps up from here. They were all carrying HYT two way radios and the food staff all carried the same radios.

Some Cruiselines only have/use One TG but each is used across multiple frequencies.
