Although not a big AIR guy, I've used a few programs that track plane locations (I'm just guessing that is what Flight Aware does) In any case, I've used the No Elec dongles and don't recall them getting particularly hot. Wish I could offer more.

The Flight Aware ProStick is a great price and RTL; I've been pleased. Other than that, go with whichever is cheapest on Amazon. Target $10-12. Frequency drift (PPM) isn't really an issue for ADS-B. I generally buy whichever one I can search that is cheapest on that day, and I haven't had any problems with the 8 or so I have.
