Still working on my amateur radio callsign.
I'm trying to listen to AEP/WTU. It's edacs networked standard. Is that the same as edacs narrow?
No, not the same. The difference is in the control channel data stream. EDACS Standard uses a 9600 baud control channel. Narrow uses a 4800 baud channel. See the EDACS page in the Wiki, and click on the system type links a few paragraphs down from the top for more information.I'm trying to listen to AEP/WTU. It's edacs networked standard. I've already got quite a bit programmed in to it. I'm just having trouble with talkgroups and or trunked systems
Be aware that the database info for AEP's EDACS system may no longer be accurate.
Yep. When I moved back here several years ago I found that the db was nearly useless for AEP. The LCNs and site numbers were wrong for most of the sites. I got some of them fixed but I think there are still a lot of sites that are no good. I don't know if the Abilene area sites are good.Yeah, I spent a little time getting updated LCNs for a lot of the South Texas sites earlier this year. Many of them are good, but the Central Texas/North Texas stuff may have changed considerably.
