No, not the same. The difference is in the control channel data stream. EDACS Standard uses a 9600 baud control channel. Narrow uses a 4800 baud channel. See the EDACS page in the Wiki, and click on the system type links a few paragraphs down from the top for more information.

AEP/WTU is EDACS Network Standard, as noted in the System Type field on the database page.

For reference only, the ONCOR system, which is not in Taylor County, but is in other areas, is EDACS Narrowband Networked. Oncor's system includes Nolan and Shackelford counties near you (among others), but not Taylor itself. Remember that for monitoring an EDACS system, the correct LCN's need to be entered.

So can my ws1065 pick up the channels I'm trying to hear? If so how?

I've already got quite a bit programmed in to it. I'm just having trouble with talkgroups and or trunked systems

Ok, I will get started on this later today and likely complete such on Tuesday, my day off.

Please, look at your receipt to determine if you still can use Win500 because it would a waste of time for both of us if you don't have access.

Be aware that the database info for AEP's EDACS system may no longer be accurate.

Yeah, I spent a little time getting updated LCNs for a lot of the South Texas sites earlier this year. Many of them are good, but the Central Texas/North Texas stuff may have changed considerably.

Yep. When I moved back here several years ago I found that the db was nearly useless for AEP. The LCNs and site numbers were wrong for most of the sites. I got some of them fixed but I think there are still a lot of sites that are no good. I don't know if the Abilene area sites are good.
Nobody in the Abilene area seems interested in utilities or businesses. There is a lot missing from the db in that area.
