Have been reading a lot about ProScan which is better ProScan or Sentinel ? and why
Two different animals.
You have to keep Sentinel for database updates, as well as any firmware updates that are released. You can program with Sentinel, either appending from the main database, or entering systems manually.
While you cannot update the database using ProScan, it can be used for programming. Since you are a Premium Subscriber, you can import anything in the database. Whereas, with Sentinel, if you append your statewide system,
AIRS, you also get all the sites for the system, statewide, even though they are well out of range. But, using ProScan, you can selectively import only the portions that you want.
ProScan gives you logging capability as well as virtual control.Using the Favorites list editor in ProScan, you can import files from Sentinel as well as other software, ProScan also supports a large number of other scanners, so if you have other Uniden scanners, you can use ProScan for most of them. The exceptions are the 246T & the HP-1/HP-2.
ProScan has a thirty day trial period, which is full function, so you can use it for that period of time to see if you want to purchase.
