Hi all, I am monitoring a Hytera XPT system and finding that the TRX1 is showing talkgroups incorrectly and randomly assigning talkgroups. I'll explain.
One talkgroup is TGID 140 (Uniden correctly displays this) but on the whistler it has shown the following Talkgroups at random, so far as 1048716
3145868, 5243020, 2097292 and 4194444. All for the same talkgroup which is actually TG140. Has anyone come across this before and can explain why and if thers a work around?

While the TRX-1 will receive/decode DMR transmissions it will not 'trunk track' DMR trunked systems, like the Uniden SDS-xxx series will. So if you've programmed it as a trunking system, that may be part of the problem. Try entering it as conventional frequencies and see what happens. That's what I do with the few Motorola DMR trunked systems near me. They're not very busy so it's easy to manually follow a TG.

I've had the same issue with a local Hytera system (Harrah's Casino in Biloxi MS). It seems like every transmission displays a new talkgroup. I'm certain it's just the TRX not liking the XPT flavor.

Agreed. Programming as Trunked or Conventional makes no difference, it's an issue with how the TRX processes XPT. You might find that they're not random, but in fact all multiples of 1,048,576 + actual TG.

@racingfan360 Your post from 2023 is 100% accurate regarding the TRX and XPT talkgroups.
