Anybody have any expertise with the whistler trx-2 in Monmouth County. Imported from radio reference and it's barely picking up anything and not picking up the NJ ICS or MC TRS..

Hoping someone can look at my codeplug

TIA

Looking at those systems, my guess is it is not your programming but simulcast distortion you are having issues with. The Whistler scanners do not play nice with simulcast, unlike the UNIDEN SDS series designed to deal with it. Additionally, many talkgroups are encrypted which no scanner will decode, and depending on the scanner's setting might be ignored by the scanner.

Never had any luck with the whistler TRX 1 or 2 in Ocean County on the OC TRS. Unless I'm under one of the tower sites, I get nothing on the radio. I sold all but one of the whistlers and got the SDS 100 and 200 and no issues. The last whistler TRX2 I have is in the box it came in sitting in a closet.

Ok, I rebuilt the codeplug from another that the TRS was working on. Got the TRS working. I cant get the MC Fire OPS (700mhz) channels working. I imported the info from here so it should be correct, I would assume..

Heads up for anyone reading this thread who has the Monmouth County 700 MHz simplex Fire/EMS Ops channels programmed: the NAC's that have been in the database for nearly a year were wrong. The decimal values were submitted last February, when it should've been the hexadecimal values. They have been corrected.
