PSR500/PSR600: Whistler Update error # 10060 on new update

I have a GRE 600 when I tried to update the software that just came out, I get an error #10060 on the download of the update, it then freezes my cpu and I have to reboot? I can not load the new update as the software hangs on the download of the firmware? Any one know of a fix? Cpu is Windows 8.1, Qosmio Laptap.

I'm not aware of any new update for the 600 or any GRE radio.....

Yeah, where did you get the idea there was any updates available for this scanner? I have one too and the last update pushed out from GRE was a few years back before they folded. There is no mention of these models in the downloads area of the Whistler site. There are downloads for their equivalent model, the WS-1065, but the old PSR-600 cannot use that. I think I am safe in saying there will be no future support for the PSR-600. Mine works just fine, so that doesn't bother me in the least.

Last update for the PSR-800 was in 2015, after GRE folded, but still put out on the Ezscan software.

I know of no other sources to get updates from GRE, which ceased to exist in 2014 I believe. Can safely say that no upgrades of firmware for the 600 has been put out in the last couple years.

My 800 works great and if I found a place other than Ezscan, I would not touch it. Don’t know what software the 600 used.

In this case Mark he was asking about the PSR-600, which hasn't seen an update in some time since GRE went up in smoke. I suspect what the OP did was download the Whistler WS-1065 update and try to apply it to his PSR-600, which is not gonna work. The last firmware update I recall is v2.1 and DSP v1.4, though I can't recall what year that was from. Of course I was using WIN500 for this model.

To my knowledge that is correct. Prior to that point only firmware/DSP updates were provided by GRE. The PSR-500/600 and even the Whistler WS-1065 (and several others) required something like WIN500, PSREdit 500 or Arc 500 to program them. I have had a license for WIN500 for a few years and it has serviced various models I've owned. Once they came out with SD card scanners with the entire database on them, that was a game changer. They then provided EZ-Scan, as well as I-Scan f/u/w Radio Shack branded scanners.
