Toying with idea of scanner for Weather Alerts and Storm Spotter Scanning....

Uniden BC365CRS ClockRadio Scanner with Weather Alert
or
Whistler WS1025. So looking I see I can put the WS1025 in Alert Standby Mode - is it ok to leave it like this for expanded lengths of time?
Like during Tornado Season? Will it burn out the LCD...think backlight is off.

Any ideas around this?
Thanks,

Doubt it would harm anything. If the backlight is off, it won't go out prematurely. I run my scanners for days on end without shutting them off, which is probably less stressful on the unit than turning on/off daily. Keep it connected to a good surge protector.

Edit: for spelling.
