I just received the Whistler WS1065 as a gift. I have no idea how to program this. Basically, I am wanting local and Cincinnati PD (talkgroups), to be able to hear everything. Never had a scanner before, so I'm new to this. Any feedback is appreciated!

Hi and welcome - The 1065 is basically the same (with a few minor firmware differences) as the GRE PSR-600 and the RS Pro-197 or Pro-652 - so anything we have on these scanners will help

I would get software to program that scanner. Butel ARC500 is a great piece of software. You can download everything directly from this site to your scanner with this software. I really do recommend it and I am not affiliated with them in any way.

You are also welcome to attend a MONIX scanner meeting if you would like person to person help. We meet the second Saturday of the month at the Middletown Donatos at 4303 Roosevelt Blvd, Middletown, OH 45044 at 6PM and the third Saturday at the month at the Bellevue Donatos at 15 6th St, Bellevue, KY 41073 also at 6PM.
