I need some help with the Whiteman AFB (APCO25 I think) frequencies, these are the frequencies Ive found with close call:

0406.11250
0406.15000
0406.50000
0407.55000
0407.56250
0407.88750
0407.95000
0408.76250
0410.36250

I have a 396t and I've been able to hear the frequencies in conventional mode and obviously can't follow the conversation. So when I switch it into Motorola Type II UHF, I can't figure out the base frequency, step and offset channel. I've tried 406.000, 12.5 and 380 with no luck. The scanner shows a signal but no voice or nothing.

I'm not sure if I'm missing another frequency or the base freq, step and offset are wrong or what... Is there any programs or spreadsheets I can plug these frequencies into and figure that out? Any kind of help would be appreciated. Thanks!

About a year ago or so they switched over to an encrypted P-25 system. I monitor from my farm a mile to the southwest of the base and almost all the ground stuff is now on the P-25 system. The following is from a trunker dump last month :

New System ID is B310
406.1125 17c Voice/Control
406.1500 17f Voice/Control
406.5000 19b Voice
407.5500 1ef Voice
407.8875 20a Voice
407.9500 20f Voice
408.1500 21f Voice
408.7625 250 Voice
410.7000 2eb Voice

Conventionals :
407.3625 Encrypted P-25 Conventional
410.3625 Encrypted P-25 Conventional

Plugging Gregg's CC's and HEX values into Brian Cathcart's marvelous calculator indicates the base is the lowest channel 406.1125 and offset at 12.5. The obvious step may be 380.

Alright I inputted all the frequencies listed above (except the conventional ones). BTW, I'm using ARC396.

Put the Base: 0406.1125 Step: 12.5 Offset: 380

One thing I'm not too sure about is the End Code and Status Bit... maybe someone can enlighten me.

But the only action I've gotten so far is encrypted. I've got around 5 talkgroups so far... is all communication encrypted? I know there can't be that many security force ID groups. Thanks alot BTW.

Disregard End Code and Status Bit.If you get the encrypted noise and talkgroup numbers, the settings are correct. Watch and listen for a while then you and Gregg should get together and submit what you have to the database.

BTW, welcome to the forum and you have started off very well.

Alrighty well last night was pretty quiet but this morning I hit quite a few more with majority of them being encrypted. Now only time will tell till we can weed these out (lockout total encrypted ID's) and then find out which ID's belong to what. Also, there were a few times on the same ID that the communication was encrypted and sometimes it wasn't (although majority of the time you can hear communication). Glad to help out.... I'll include all the Trunk ID's I have as of now:

Encrypted:
16
48 - Spirit Command Operations? (heard very little but mostly enc)
80
88
112
120
144
152
176
304
688
720
844
1520
1616
1680
2104
2288
3312
3536
3856
4944

Heard Communication:
240
272
656
1328
1488
1584
1936
2064
2096

Good deal, That is the news some of us have been waiting for. On the old system the "Defender" roving security units were always in the clear. Still hearing them? I'll swing by tonight and check settings on my radio as they must not be correct since I have spent many nights out there with no luck. Thanks for the info.

Well I don't think I've heard any Security Forces (which was the most excitement anyway) which makes me think they're all encrypted. I use to listen to the old system as well. I've heard maintence, something that sounded like fuels and I think vehicle deployment.
