And then the only way out is to remove the batteries.

They're working on it.....

GRE is aware of the issue and is looking into a firmware solution. In the mean time you have to remove the batteries and try again. Sometimes it takes more than one try.

Fortunately it does not happen every time.

Wow, that's interesting. I haven't seen that yet, thankfully.

It also stops receiving and i have to remove the antenna and put it back on and then it picks right up where it left off.

GRE- NEVER AGAIN!!

mine does it occasionally. It seems like it's a power button timing issue and will happen if the button is held too long.

Maybe the bottom two batteries aren't charged.

;)

Never seen it happen on mine, thankfully. I use Duracell 2650mAh batteries that I usually charge in a Duracell 15 minute charger.

Hi all. New psr 800 user here as well. I saw that the first night i was working on programming and thought i broke something. It does seem to happen like mancow indicated, if i hold the on button just too long it has done this a few times since. Still getting used to the radio and its quirks and along with scanning again. Hopefully we shall see a fix.

I had it happen too. There are some quirks to a software-driven radio. In my case, the unlighted display is very hard to see, and I wondered if I had pushed a button while the radio was still loading/verifying.

I've noticed that too.

Multiple power button presses while it's booting cause it to happen too.

Happened again today. I may have pressed the button for too long.

Look for update soon

I hear there is a firmware fix out to the beta testers. I'd expect an update before too long. I want to encourage everyone not to worry about it too much. It was just a simple hit or miss firmware timing problem between the two processors on boot-up.
