I wonder how far afield this thread can go. Death squads, cops robbing banks, mommys at barns. So we will have encryption even if some of you don't like it. Cry a lot cause it's going to get worse.

Encryption just like digital is here to stay.

i mean,with all due respect,your neighbors already know robbies strung out,aside from embarrassment to the family.there is no harm.

so with that said,should we seal all the public records as not to upset anyone,,Oh,i forgot,if your wealthy you can just pay people off by contributing.

in my opinion....the smiths n jonses knowing your kids on drugs is the least of your worries,stop being so dammed superficial and worry about getting your loved one taken care of.

I agree with you, and if someone did decide to do drugs, then I think they SHOULD be humiliated.

Agencies encrypt because they don't want us listening to them. Period. Encryption is available to them and it's their prerogrative to use it, plain and simple. None of us like it, but it's a reality that's here to stay and we'll no doubt see more of it as agencies upgrade their radio systems. We just need to accept it, move on and monitor what we can. And remember folks, we still have SPEN 1 and local/county inter op channels that aren't encrypted and if something big happens we usually hear about it on those channels. So, we're not completely in the dark, yet. Let's just have fun with this hobby and monitor and enjoy what we can and not get so upset about and involved with what we can't.
