Federal Information is Classified thats why.

Its a matter of National Security as to why the law was enacted.

Thus by law, if information is requested to be removed we as policy remove the information.

If you think that every tidbit of info about the way our government works should be open for foriegn powers, and domestic idiots to use against us, then write a few letters to your congressmen. Civilian info is still public domain and thus you see everything from callsigns to how its used on the web.

Everyone that doesn't want YEARS of hassles in Federal Court will comply with requests to remove information that can be considered sensitive. Not to mention that a LOT of the other information on the web is VERY outdated.

But if someone chooses to play hardball with the feds.. thats thier funeral.

I for one don't like the idea that not only would there be unmarked FBI vehicles and handcuffs, but every bit of your info searched through, and your days of being a source of info ended. Don't think its fantasy, cross the feds and find out first hand. This site is not going to be stupid.

This info was classified WAY before 9-11-01. All Federal info was classified back in the 80's. Its a matter of National Security.

LOL

You think the USA is strict on National Security? Some nations make our situation look like Kindergarten! Last I heard there are entire nations that outlaw scanners. In say former Soviet nations just trying to get info on comms systems used will have you in jail. Heck we have still the most open borders in the world, the most accessible sources of info on civilain comms.. actual public radio stations... And in some nations there is NO such thing as HAM radio.... All comms are restricted. Take China- Even internet access is severely restricted, and closely monitored.

To Cobra... Why don't you just figure the system out instead of whinning. I have bagged many military systems, takes about 30 minutes usually. Just find a control channel between 402-420 and try a few diiferent base/offset combinations and away you go. Not rocket science, just takes a small effort.

The blame the terrorists, not the people that are trying to harm you. Stop whining and start listening and by scanning the bands you will find the frequencies.

I have found 27 military air frequencies that are used by the two USAF bases near me. I have four scanners dedicated to just milair. with about 150 MHz of band to search it takes more than one to keep finding the new frequencies that they keep adding.
