Wichita Falls ISD filed two applications (so far) for a new DMR system.
Radio service code is YG - Industrial/Business Pool, Trunked
7 sites at some of the schools. All with low level building-mount antennas.
Each site has one repeater pair so this might not really be trunked.
20 mobile only channels, 10 are 4 watts and 10 (5 MHz higher) are 25 watts.

464.325 CC 6 and 463.975 CC 11 on the air today.

The active repeaters key up at the same time for 4 seconds every 44 seconds like a wide area multicast type system.

It’s probably going to be set up as a DMR conventional networked system when you are ready to submit. As much detail as you can glean from SDRTrunk or DSDPlus will help categorize it properly.

DSD+ doesn't show any system type. They all look like regular conventional repeaters. I don't think SDRTrunk will even work since it's not trunked. I don't trust either one.

Yep. All sites at the same time and always TS 1. Just networked conventional repeaters that key up periodically. DSD+ only shows DMR and the CC.

It appears to be just like the nearby CEC and SWREA systems except the repeaters are all low level within a few miles of eachother instead of multiple counties.

I don't know anything about WFISD PD. The ISD only had VHF bus and maintenance channels until now. I don't know what the PD used before.

Now I'm trying to figure out whether or not this PD talkgroup is patched to the city's P25 system.

It’s worth checking out, and maybe keep an eye on any other talk groups popping up. They could have the system set up where radios can roam from one site to another for the PD

Those two licenses have many mobile only UHF frequencies, I’d be willing to bet that is where the CC 1-4 simplex school admin channels will be found for the most part, with some likely district wide talk groups on the repeaters for emergencies and such.

So far I haven't heard anything on those except for one and It was too weak to decode.

They have several mostly unlicensed VHF simplex channels for hand helds at various schools. I haven't yet been able to determine if those are still used or they moved all the schools to the new UHF channels.

Busses are still on their VHF repeater. There is also a VHF maintenance repeater but I haven't heard anything on it in a long time and don't know if it's still used.

I think it would make sense if they moved the PD to the UHF system so they could hold one radio to talk to the staff. Boerne ISD which is what I am most familiar with now has DMR UHF Vertex radios and the SROs have to carry that with a mic on one shoulder and their LCRA radio mic on the other shoulder. I’ve caught a few “disregard, accidental” LCRA keyups from SROs before😄

It looks like most or all the VHF simplex school channels are still in use. Nothing on UHF.
