Yesterday in Larimer County there were 3 different wildland fires. (Palisade, Green Mtn, one on Buckhorn Mtn) Luckily none of these were very big.
With the lack of rainfall and high daytime temperatures, low humidity, conditions are getting bad for a wildland fire.
Here are some frequencies that will be used if the unfortunate event happens:
168.65 nfm National Flight Following (aircraft)
168.625 nfm Air Guard (aircraft)
123.975 am Air tanker base at Metro airport (Jefco)
Here are some of the National Forest repeaters:
Pike/San Isabel 168.725 nfm
Roosevelt/Arapaho 169.175 nfm
Routt 169.6 nfm
Radio Reference here has an excellent source for other frequencies:
Colorado Federal Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference
If you will monitor closely, frequencies will be given out as the event happens for all those agencies responding.
