Does anyone know if the Will county fire frequencies are still on vhf Laraway and Wescom or did they go to the Will county government 800 system entirely.
Not hearing anything on the vhf listed frequencies here in north cook county.

Will County specifically LCC operates fully on their own trunked system. You would need a scanner that's capable of handling that or an SDR

WesCom operates on starcom 21 on the Will/Grundy similacast site. Same thing you would need a scanner that can handle it or SDR

The only thing that remains on analog is patchs to the fire channels

Yes I realize that they are on the county system and Starcom but my question is are the vhf simulcast patches still active?

Thanks haven’t heard either on vhf in the last two days I imagine they are pretty active with the area they cover. Have some one out there asking me about a radio wanted to check activity before recommending anything.

All be able to check later tonight since I'm close by both. All post here when I know

If you're in North Cook you're probably too far

So I was able to listen and can confirm WesComs patches are good but either I'm too far away or LCC has decommissioned the patches for there frequencies. I am utilizing an outdoor antenna so I should be able to reach it since I can pickup DeKalb Citys analog just fine. Either way I would recommend a digital scanner anyways since analog is becoming obsolete and they would be able to listen to police as well with LCC and WesCom since none of them are encrypted

I had a radio on a beam here pointed that way I am in Cook county north east and didn’t hear them either so I also believe their best bet is to listen to the trunked stuff . Thanks for the report.
