Looking to listen to Williamson county sheriff dept and Nolensville police dept. Not interested in Franklin or Brentwood. Anyone have a recommendation on a scanner for these? Also anyone have a copy of Williamson county ten codes?

If thats your criteria then any radio that will pick up the 150-160MHz range and the 450-470MHz range. That includes just about every scanner built. Old ones too so i'm pretty sure your can find one pretty cheap. What you mentioned is non-digital so it's pretty much your pick and their are a lot of 'em.
i would go ahead and pick up the pro 106 just in case. Tennessee is moving to a statewide TRS in short order you will need a p25 scanner like the 106 if you want to pick up the TEMA and THP or locel pds and fds ahfer they switch over if they do to the new TRS

Long time before that happens. This state don't have that kind of money. That stuff in east Tn is being payed by the players which are all the municipalities participating in it. Hell, the ANG/ARNG has some of the oldest equipment out there. As other states are equipping their Guard out fits with P25 radios, TN is still old analog. Heck i can't even pick up any radio traffic from the National Guard Armory which is only 3 miles from me. Now analog isn't bad, for distance it's better than digital, but i think for now this new phenom called the 700MHz trunking will remain a regional thing and it will be some time before it goes statewide. But since the guy never responded he must have lost interest.
I don't know Joe. Couple of sites in Mid-TN now, particularly in the boro but we have also heard one somewhere near Hendersonville in the past. SEOC is using the site in Murfreesboro not infrequently.
Agree most of the build out is in east TN thanks in no small part to Chattanooga-Hamilton county who have been very successful with grant money. I think a lot of folks will be surprised at how good th coverage is in the mountains without 90 millions towers.

what i heard was the buro site and a site from East TN via ducting i belive no site near h ville yet

These kinds of systems are so confusing to me. I would have no idea which ones to plug in? I guess you wouldn't be able to hear everything unless you plugged in every single CC from each system which would be very tedious. It ought to be interesting.

I can't hear the MTSU one from Nashville though. It must not get out that far.

It is spotty. There are a couple areas on I-24/40 loop where it comes in clear but otherwise I don't hear it much past OHB exit. I live in Nolensville and in my living room I have one sweet spot but otherwise can't hear them. Of course I can't get Franklin either. That franklin system is a bear to monitor.
