Does anyone know how to change the port # in win500 to recongnise your radio. I get an error message (Timeout) because the correct port or something is not selected. Does anyone know how to change it? This is all I need and I'll be good to go. Thanks

That WORKED PERFECT! Had to change from Port 4 to Port 6!! Excellent! Thank You VERY Much!!! Excellent!

Just out of curiosity, how did you determine which comport you needed to change to? There is no indication in the current iteration of WIN500 as to which port it is using, or attempting to use.

I remember before when I used it, only have three USB ports and last time I used it it was either 3, 6, or 8, 3 was in use so I tried 6 and it was the right one. Just a lucky guess I guess you could say.

The recent versions of Win500.EXE do not care about the COM port number. They communicate directly with the cable without going through the COM port "virtual device".

If changing the COM port number from 4 to 6 in Device Manager worked, then some other software was opening COM4.
