Ok I'll check out those pages! By the way what is a good default setting for Dwell setting?

Also under the NFM box, do I check that box or is it done automatically when I download from RR?- If I set it, how do I know when to check it?

Thanks Hoser

Had to look and see, I have the dwell set to 0. Its probably going to depend on the system and your reception. No its not checked when you download. Best bet would be check with someone local if possible. As far as the rest experimentation is your friend. Good Scannin Hoser

Per the manual
0-200 x 100 mS
Sets the amount of time the scanner dwells on a
Motorola, P25 or EDACS system control channel
for activity on programmed talkgroups. Use 0 for
automatic mode, which uses control channel
information to determine when all current talkgroup
information has been broadcast by the system.

If you listen to different trunk systems, you might want to track one more time than another so entering a number on one that you listen to more of because it has more traffic would be a good option.
So 10 would be 1 second. and you can do up to 200 which would be 20 seconds if I am correct.

Ok I'll use 10 as the default for the Dwell. I had another queston. Can I use more the one priority channel in the list of channels? I have set 4 different channels as priority, it seems only the first one works? Is there a better way to do that.

Also for the newbies. When Hoser says check pages 106-107 in the manual, my new Psr600 manual only goes to page 34. You have to go to the GRE website and download the manual. That .pdf format manual has all of the info in it.

Thanks for all repies

I noticed that when my scanner is scanning, the signal strength is 4 bars, but it keeps on scanning? Is there a setting to make it stop on one bar while its scanning? Maybe I have the squelch set too high?

Thanks

Lorin,I cant help ya there Im wondering the same thing. If I remember correctly I read something about it in a thread somewhere, but it might have been someone asking in regards to the same question. Squelch setting doesnt seem to matter here. Hopefully someone that blazed that trail will chime in. Hoser

Beside the 4 bar scanning bar question, I noticed I am getting PD on the " Wildcard" talkgroup on some of my Fire Department channels. If I take out or delete the wildcard in the talkgroup, will I still receive all the Fire Department action within that talkgroup? What happens when a wildcard line is deleted?

Thanks
