You don't download it into your scanner... you download it onto your computer.

Run it, connect to your radio, and go from there. If you are having problems, please detail the steps you've taken and where things went wrong.

Win96 doesn't go "in" your Pro-96. Win96 goes on your computer. Run the program, plug in your scanner and under the "Scanner" menu item, choose "Download from Scanner". This will get your current scanner setup (not counting V-folders). Save that as a name like "OrigDump.p96". Save it again as working file name (what ever you want I guess), and make whatever chanes you want to the setup. The extended freqency check box is on the "Settings" tab. When you are happy, choose the "Scanner" menu item again and choose "Upload to Scanner" to put your changes into the radio.

Caution: If you don't save the original download from the scanner first, you will be sorry later on.

This program is so simple to use, it never ceases to amaze me how people make it harder than it is. :?

Well if you wiped them out already, I guess you know why I issued the caution. Default settings come up on a "New" template.

No its not bad. All he is saying is that if you do not save the settings in the radio first then you would loose what you had in it.
