My old laptop running XP Pro finaly crashed.

I copied the Win500 folder (from a backup drive) on to my new laptop running Windows 7. The program runs, but only in the evaluation mode.

I have the same problem when I run Win97 and Win96 as well.

Solution to get back to normal?

Check your records for the double line
Name
Key
for all three scanners.

or

Find any record of same in backup files including from email server.

Good news and bad news...the good news is I forgot I had a copy of the software on my work laptop (XP Pro)...ran the application and got the key, plugged it into my new laptop running Window 7 and it accepted it just fine....so my Win500 is up and running.

Still leaves me without Win96 and Win97.

Just out of curiosity though, before I plugged in the Key manually, I copied the complete folder containing WIN500 from my work laptop (XP Pro) to my new home laptop (Windows 7) and I got the same evaluation mode. For some unknown reason (to me), the Name and Key don't make in through the transfer???

Any other suggestions?

Glad you have Win500 but on new computer Winxx(x) programs do not have installers so will not transfer name/key. 96/97 require same effort as 500. Most users do what you did with Win500...print a hard copy.
