Downloaded WIN500 software from butel website yesterday....
Spent the day programming objects and uploading 300+ objects to my Pro-106...
Saved all my work before I exited out...

Today...
Get back on my PC to add more objects to my scanner and computer decides it needs to shut down to some error...
I try to open WIN500 up after PC has restarted and am now getting this error message...
-Cannot find import; DLL may be missing, corrupt, or wrong version File "WinXXCommon, dll", error 126-

Anyone ever come across this after installing WIN500?

Win500 from butel? I'm assuming you meant Win500 from starrsoft.com, the 2 aren't related.

Have you tried re-extracting the downloaded zip file, the dll may be corrupt, just as the error states.

It's looking for the dll that came with your driver software.
Make sure You have the right port for it setup.

You're correct. I believe butel was where I found the ARC500 program.

I downloaded WIN500 again and so far it seems to operate fine.
The issue is now I have (2) WIN500 programs on my PC. 1 with 300+ objects I can not get to (due to the error message) and the new one I just downloaded (which so far seems to work fine).

Do I just cut my losses and start again with the newly downloaded WIN500?

Sure You can get to it, just open explorer, and go to where it is, and open it.
Also You don't need to keep downloading it, all You would have to do is unzip it again.

If your database file is in the old Win500 folder, just move it to the new install folder, then delete the old folder, as long as your database isn't corrupt you should be able to open it and continue right where you left off.

I keep all my database files in the "My Documents" folder for easy tracking.

You could also try just copying the dll file from the new folder to the old one and see if your original install works again.

If it's the same file you loaded your scanner with, you can also download it from the scanner and save it for editing.

I honestly have no idea how to do any of those things.
Tried to extract the newly downloaded WIN500 folder and apparently I'm doing something wrong. I hit the extract all button, it acts like it is going through the unzipping process, but then the folder is still zipped on my desktop.

I tried to copy and paste both of the dll files (msvcr.71dll & WinXXCommon.dll) and it ask if I want to replace the files in the existing WIN500 folder, which I select yes, then I try to reopen the first WIN500 program but am still getting the error 126.

THAT WORKED!! I downloaded all the files from the scanner to the newly downloaded WIN500 program. Now if I just keep my fingers crossed, I won't ever get that error message again.
