Yesterday I heard the automated voice dispatch being tested on Radio Tech TG 1. From my understanding, "Samantha" will be in place very soon.

Whoever is running the Calls Broadcast on this system, it sounds great. What are you using? Sounds better than the average SDR Stick.

That would be I :) The equipment is a Raspberry Pi 5 running trunk-recorder via the Broadcastify Raspberry Pi image. The SDR is an Airspy Mini connected to an old Radio Shack 800 MHz HT antenna.

Always great to get some feedback and to know that the node is getting some use!

Congrats on a great sounding feed.

I have tried so many times to setup trunk-recorder with my Airspy SDR. I am just am not good with Linux. I have resorted to SDR Trunk which is horrible. Trunk Recorder is definitely the way to go, it sounds so much better.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Greetings from colorado. My wifes sister and family live in kernersville. Will kernersville be affected. thank you
I am not aware of any plans for Kernersville PD to switch from their system to this system, but that is not to say it is completely out of the realm of possibility. As you probably know, Kernersville Fire and Rescue is dispatched by the county, and, thus, operates on the county's system. This is how it was on the old Motorola Type II system and continues to be the case on the new P25 system. All fire departments in the county, including Kernersville, have now switched to the new system. Kernersville PD continues to operate on the city's own separate system as far as I am aware.

Thanks to whomever submitted the Fire Ops TGs to the database. It looks like we both made a similar submission around the same time :) Always good to have verification!

Regarding TG 1860, that falls well outside the fire TG block, so I believe it to be possibly one of the PS Training TGs or something of that nature. I will keep an eye out for more traffic on there in order to ascertain a positive ID

This has become my favorite feed. The thing I love about SDR is that you get all of the radio traffic instead of one channel blocking the others out. I only wish there was an app to listen to the Calls like the standard scanner feed. The quality is great though, thanks for streaming.

Thank you for the feedback! You actually can listen to the predefined Calls playlists in the “Scanner Radio” app just like a conventional audio feed. It will queue the transmissions up so you don’t miss a thing. Both a FCSO feed and a FCFD/EMS Calls feed are available in the app, and I plan to add one for WSPD once they switch to the new system.

Broadcastify calls is a great platform for singling out specific talkgroups. You can make your own Playlists.

I didn't know this about the app. Now I'm really excited, lol. Looking forward to WSPD as they seem to have gone quiet on their old system. Thanks again

Thank You! I have been wondering when this would get updated? I live in Clemmons and was missing all the Winston-Salem PD traffic.

I have a WSPD playlist ready to go. I am just waiting for an admin to work my database submission so I can get the Calls feed added. The old WSPD feed has been silent ever since the switch.

I put a submission in to get the database updated on Wednesday evening. It is still sitting waiting to be worked. Hopefully you will see the new talkgroups pop up in the next few days!

I saw it popping up on my Uniden, I couldn't tell if it was W-S state or Forsyth Tech. Thanks for the Info!
I do not pay much attention to FTCC, but I though last I remembered they were on the Fleet Talk NEXEDGE system and were encrypted. I know there is a low-range Fleet Talk site on their campus. Granted, it has been a while since I last checked.

The database has been updated, and the WSPD Calls feed is now available here: Winston-Salem Police Dispatch. It should also appear in the Scanner Radio app soon. Just make sure you select the Calls feed and not the old conventional feed that is just broadcasting silence at the moment.

It looks like another user just started up a new WSPD feed, so check that out as well if you prefer the conventional feed style over Calls. The advantage you get with Calls is that you will not miss transmissions that occur simultaneously on different talkgroups.
