Snow Will Become Likely Wednesday Afternoon Into Wednesday Night
As A Strong Upper Level Storm System Moves Into The Central And
Southern Plains. The Snow Will Taper Off Thursday Morning As The
Storm System Pushes Off To The East.

4 To 6 Inches Of Snow Is Possible Wednesday Into Wednesday Night
Across Portions Of Eastern Oklahoma...mainly Along And North Of
Interstate 44. 2 To 4 Inches Of Snow Will Be Possible Across The
Remainder Of Eastern Oklahoma And Northwest Arkansas With Locally
Higher Amounts Possible.

A Winter Storm Watch Means Heavy Snow Or A Significant
Accumulation Of Ice Or Sleet Is Expected In The Watch Area During
The Next 24 To 48 Hours. Residents In The Watch Area Should
Prepare Now For Winter Storm Conditions. Make Sure Your Car Is
Winterized And In Good Working Order. Also Make Sure You Have An
Adequate Supply Of Food...water And The Necessary Medication To
Last Through The Duration Of The Winter Storm.

Looks like it might be a good time to get you radios ready for this possible winter storm. I find that OHP is the most reliable and to the point with winter weather conditions.

A STRONG ARCTIC COLD FRONT WILL MOVE INTO THE AREA TUESDAY AFTERNOON
BRINGING A REINFORCING SHOT OF COLD AIR. MEANWHILE...A STRENGTHENING
UPPER LEVEL LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM OVER THE NORTHERN ROCKIES WILL SWING
SOUTHEAST INTO THE SOUTH CENTRAL PLAINS BY MID WEEK. SNOW IS EXPECTED
TO DEVELOP AHEAD OF THIS SYSTEM AND SPREAD INTO EASTERN OKLAHOMA
WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENTUALLY INTO NORTHWEST ARKANSAS DURING THE
EVENING. SNOWFALL SHOULD TAPER OFF THURSDAY MORNING AS THE UPPER LEVEL
SYSTEM MOVES EAST INTO THE MISSISSIPPI VALLEY.

AT THIS TIME...SNOWFALL AMOUNTS OF 2 TO 4 INCHES APPEAR
POSSIBLE...WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS NORTH OF INTERSTATE 44 AND
POSSIBLY OVER FAR SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA.

ANY CHANGE TO THE TRACK OF THE UPPER LEVEL SYSTEM COULD SIGNIFICANTLY

Newsflash: It's Cold

The -15 F recorded at Kenton is the Mesonet's coldest observation since
the same site recorded a -19 in February of 1996.

This morning's low temperatures helped some counties observe their
coldest Dec 8th temps on record. Here's a table with this morning's
