Hi, everyone - I started one of these in our alternate home state of Alabama and thought that it might be a good idea to start one here as well.

Just list your County of Residence and if you wish, a little about your scanning or amateur radio interests.

Brown County about 5 months per year - Pastor and Chaplain Responder.

Waupaca/Outagamie county line...

Location: New London, WI [ Just south of Karl. ;) ]

Been scanning since the late 80s. Still have my first scanner, the 210XL.

Finally got my amateur ticket last year. I'm a member of Waupaca County ARES/RACES/Skywarn.
Our repeaters which we use for Skywarn:
146.925 PL118.8 W9GAP Ogdensburg primary repeater
147.390 CSQ Waupaca ARES backup repeater
147.165 PL118.8 Emergency portable repeater

I monitor Waupaca and Outagamie county as well as the Fox Valley. I like to listen to shortwave and hope to get some HF gear soon. Been playing around with computers since I was 12. (My first computer ran at 0.8 MHz. Ha!)

I don't actively scan outside of work, so here is the equipment used at work:

Location: KSB433

8 M/A-Com VHF base stations, scattered throughout 7 counties
1 Motorola MTS2000 800 MHz portable
1 Motorola MCS2000 800 MHz desktop
1 M/A-Com EDACS patch to VHF
1 BC-780XLT (with everything else)

Plus whatever equipment of the state's or my own that gets utilized for special event days (severe WX, special details, etc). I am licensed amateur radio operator, but when your job is communications it's not very often that the hobby radios are used.

From Barron County, going to school at UW-EC in Eau Claire. Listen all the time to the scanner in my dorm room and always take my handheld home with me on breaks.

Normally I just monitor the Appleton Police frequencies along with Outgamie County Sheriff.

I am also a Ham Radio operator and can normally be found on the 146.760 100hz PL or the 442.975 100hz pl in the Fox Valley.

-- I reside in northern Dane County --

I try to monitor police and fire departments in Dane, Columbia, Dodge,Washington, Jefferson, Sauk, Green, Rock, WSP,etc. It's pretty much whatever I can get in at the moment. There are other counties I monitor and it depends on conditons on how well they come in (Grant, Richland, Fond du Lac, Green Lake, Vernon, Winnebago, etc)

At home I use a Uniden 780xlt with an outdoor antenna. 246t for mobile use. Those are my primary scanners.

Northeast Green County.
I listen to Madison PD and area sheriff dispatchers. Also northern Illinois sheriffs and hams when storms are moving in from that direction.
In the summer, the Chicago PD comes in most nights. My favorite channel is Citywide Six.

I started monitoring public safety when I was a kid in Pittsburgh and the police were in the 1600 AM band.
