I am in Wisconsin about 4-5 months a year, I monitor the following counties:
Marquette, Waushara, Adams, Waupaca, Green Lake, Columbia and Sauk.
I have the following scanners: BR330T, BR396T, PRO-92,PRO-97, PRO-2055 ALSO carry a Motorola ht 1000, programmed for local fire( still fight fire in Marquette county, mostly during grass fire season). To any of you that have the live scanner feeds THANKS, always great to hear voices from home!

Hi Wisconsinites, AT 66 years old I just became interested in the CB hobby and just got an original President Washington Radio and am in the process of getting it all set up. I then became interested in scanners and bought an old Regency ACT-E-10 that works great. Then I just got a RELM HS200 portable that is picking up TONS of stuff. I live in rural Richland County high up on a ridge and with the HS200 I am listening to Richland, Crawford, Vernon, Juneau, Sauk, Iowa counties and much more. All with the rubber duckie. Frankly, I'm not sure I could get much more with an outside antenna. This old Relm HS200 is quite a radio.

Just another THANK YOU to everyone who has checked in so far. I'd like to ask if there are any REACT team members here from any of the eight regional teams in Wisconsin?

REACT is always looking for new team members in all areas for additional emergency monitoring coverage on CB, GMRS, and Amateur frequencies. Please visit the REACT International information site for history, details and membership protocols...

Hi Everyone!!
I Live in the Milwaukee area and I am new to this forum but not new to scanning. I have been an avid listener for 12 years now and have a few radios including my newest one the BCD-396T. I am also currently studying to get my Technicians HAM lic which I hope to test for in June this year. Once I get that I would love to get into something like REACT and the such.

Just bringing this thread back up to the top for any new or recent Wisconsin members to use.

With approximately 55 to 65 Wisconsin members in the Forum, perhaps we can get some new postings going - they have been a bit scarce lately. Thanks.

Mostly because nothing really changes around the state...whether that's good or bad, I don't know.

Ho hum.

Originally from New Jersey. 1st unit was a Bearcat250 about 28 years ago. then added the Bearcat Thinscan a year or two later. neat toys when you are 14-15-16 years old. :)
moved to Wisconsin 14 1/2 years ago and received a RS Pro-23 as a gift. the two Bearcats are in a box somewhere. recently bought the 996T and really like what it can do. I'm in Langlade County, and with the little Spider antenna outside, I hear LOTS from the surrounding counties, and even Upper Michigan on occasion. new Scantenna should be delivered this week.
took the 996 on vacation with me to New Jersey recently, learned a lot. there's no trunking here in my area, so I got a chance to tinker a bit.

mostly PD/EMS listening.
right now(20:45pm) listening to local sheriffs giving up on chasing a speeder into Oconto and Forest counties. deputy says he clocked the vehicle at 80, and it pulled away at more than 100...

For STATEBOY....
Changes can be subtle but they are out there.
In the last year or so around here....
*Wood coutny just got a major radio system upgrade, new tower, console and more. Hearing some channels better than ever before.
*WI Dells PD went mixed mode P25 digital with encryption
*Lake Delton PD just recently went mixed mode P25 too, wtih encryption of course ;)
*If you listen closely to the Columbia Co. page channel you can tell they are simulcasting.
*Same thing with Marquette Co. page channel.
*I hear an astrotac voter on the Marquette Co. Hwy channel now.
*Dodge county did some major upgrades too, new console, and one of their main channels is now repeated.
So maybe things are slow in your area but you just never know. On the other hand, a change to ASTRO isn't much fun to listen to.

BTW...isn't the state building a new tower in Dodge co.?

Should be interesting how the new Dane Co. system plays out....I think they need another consultant....just to be sure the past four didn't miss something. HA
