I have heard that everything Law Enforcement related will be encrypted on the new system. Have they switched to the new system? I wasn't aware that it was active yet.

Don't know if it is active yet. I tried to enter the frequencies into a P25 system and do an ID search but I'm afraid I'm just a little too far away to receive it. Per villlythekid, he is no longer able to receive the UHF T-Band Motorola Type II system.

Not active yet. They still have a decently long road ahead of them - most things say late 2021 and 2022, but have also heard that sounds optimistic.

OpenMHz has active traffic this morning on the MTP talkgroups.
Are you located in one of the counties that borders DC or DC itself? Just want to rule out reception issues first. Also what scanner are you using?
Edit: Now that I look at it, traffic seems severely reduced. Have a hard time believing it is that slow.... Something must be changing

It could be because of the reduced traffic all over the DC area. Many, many people working from home, many schools closed.

Crime isn't an approved telework gig 
Even with a large amount of people home for coronavirus, there is still a staggering amount of activity around the area today.
MTPD-1 isn't showing traffic since like yesterday. Even with no one there you would expect something to be coming over the MTPD talkgroups. They are normally a very chatty bunch. Time to pull on the equipment today....

I just finished inputting the new 700 frequencies one by one in my SDS200. I am only 4 miles from the Burke Tower. I did not get any CCs or anything else. But you are right, the existing system is silent.
So if their not using the new and not using the old, what the heck are they using?

This is on the District of Columbia system: It appears that TGID 1618, DC 1618, Channel 0-2 is missing.

Well they just had a stabbing at the Pentagon Metro. Have a hard time believing that the system would be quiet after that

Set up a system using the District of Columbia frequencies and the above TGID's and see if you hear anything.

Just did that 5 min. ago. Silent so far. My signal strength is not great, but I am always able to hear DC Fire.

If that fails, change to ID Search on the District of Columbia system to see if they are using any other talkgroups.

My guess is that they finally turned on encryption.

So far seeing zero police activity, and it's not like I am seeing encrypted calls. 496.4375 which is an alternate is acting as the CC right now. Watching right now with Unitrunker

Picking up what appears to be a new police frequency based on traffic. 51808 - might as well program it in the scanners. Part time encryption. Also have 35024 as an unknown talkgroup. Not enough traffic to really make anything out, but it's all in the clear. I am going to guess something rail operations related. Radio IDs seem to line up.
