• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

My Wouxuns are also working great with no problems after almost a year. Most every hamster I know owns at least one and problems reported are few and far between. Even if you have a problem if you bought it from Ed at Wouxun.us it has an 18mo warranty and Ed will usually just swap it for a new one during the warranty period.

I've had mine for the better part of 2 years now, maybe more... It comes to work with me every day and never had a problem. It's toughed out a lot of abuse in a construction/renovation environment. The only thing I can really say is that I would buy another...

The Icom F40GS-1 HT's are selling dirt cheap on the web. Goes 400 to 430 mhz and $22.00 battery packs. Only goes a little above 434 mhz so no go on the normal FM ham bands.

No wonder they're giving them away. That's the most useless bandsplit in the US. Only the Feds are there. GARY

Well it wasn't my intentions of bringing anything back. I just have issues with people who outright lie. Anyone with two brain cells can see he was spinning a tale, by his contradictions.

But human beings are odd that way, once they decide to hate they never seem to drop the hate.

Does anyone know what is needed to unlock the Wouxon KG-UV3D ???

Way to bring back a thread! I gotta say my tyt is still alive and kicking and no catastrophic fires!

Wouxun programming

Is there a way to program the UV3D to display the channel number and the frequency? I just bought one and have not been able to get this done. Otherwise it seems to work fine.
