• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

What accessories will i need to do Satellite stuff with it? can yas provide links?

Where can i buy the radio so it comes with the USB programming cable included? Ive read on some places that people got theirs with it included. And if possible for under $130?

Thank you in advance for the help.

My girlfriend bought mine for me from an e-bay store. I think it was around 130.00. came with cable, software, and the usual stuff. I also found a download online that "opens" up the radio. Huge RX now. EVERYTHING from 121.00mhz to 508.995mhz. A quick google search should turn up the store.

I recommend Wouxun KG-UVD1P - KG-UV2D - KG-UV920R Mobile Transceiver
I think you can get everything you are looking for (radio, programming cable, SMA to SO-239 adaptor) for under $130, but then you'll have to pay shipping on top.
I have purchased 4 radios and many accessories from them and have been happy.

I think the SO-239 adaptor is the only thing you might want that hasn't been mentioned. Either that or the SMA to BNC adaptor. That way you can hook up a yagi for satellite work.

I will second buying from Ed at wouxun.us...good service, all above board, and he has most all the accessories you'll want. Mine was $170 out the door...radio, programming cable, speaker/mic, and antenna adapter thing. And shipping.

Yes they are. I purchase most of my antenna stuff from them and cables. On one antenna I was missing a set screw they mailed me the part the next day. The are very quick to ship and customer service is great. In my experieces with them at least.

Any rumors about the price of the new mobile when it hits the market?? Need a dual bander for the truck.

I'm hearing rumors in the "under $250" range. Of course, they're only rumors, but it's been pretty consistent.

We've been discussing availability in another thread, and we've speculated the reason it is "running late" is that Wouxun is waiting for Part 90 approval before moving forward...I have two reserved (2m/440 and 2m/220). I would be very surprised if the thing wasn't as big a winner as their HT.

I got the radio & love it! I have read somewhere you can get the radio & every accessory for it for about $177. You can buy from Wouxun KG-UVD1P - KG-UV2D - KG-UV920R Mobile Transceiver, but you may have to pay for extra accessories. A buddy of mine ordered his from 409Shopwww.409shop.com 409. It came with radio, charger, earpiece/mic, data cable & programming disc all for $115. I think it took a short bit longer as it came direct from China.

I won't recommend where to buy it, but I would definitely recommend the KG-UV2D, or the "UV-3D" instead of the 'UV1D". there were some things added/changed. I would also recommend the programming cable and that SMA to 'whatever' type antenna adapter! After that, it's up to you.
