Good morning all,
I am new here and I have a Whistler 1065 Digital Trunking Scanner that I am trying to program. I am a RR premium subscriber and using the ARC500 software to program the scanner. The instruction manual seems vague and isn't helping me with my issue. I can hear Randolph Co Fire dispatch but after dumping all of Randolph Co. frequencies in via the RR import Fire dispatch is the only channel I can hear. I assume this is because its via Simulcast on Viper. Anyways How do program this scanner with Viper to pick up the other channels?

There is nothing in the database to indicate the Randolph VIPER sites are simulcast, I believe you are trying to listen to the analog frequencies which say they are simulcast on Viper (meaning transmissions are both analog and on Viper).

Have you tried to program in the four Viper sites for Viper along with the talkgroups for Randolph county? If you do that you'll probably hear more. I am not familiar with the ARC500 software, but perhaps @tvengr will see this and comment for you.

But, basically you'd import the VIPER trunked P25 system in from NC, add the four sites for Randolph Co, add Randolph county talkgroups, and assign them to a scan bank. To can also add the analog frequencies to a different scan bank when you make the programming, just in case.

Okay I had programmed those in and was still not able to hear anything, realized my issue is I did not press the "Scan" button on the scanner... so the scanner just wasn't scanning however now I am able to hear the radio traffic.

Thank you very much for the fast reply. I think I have figured out as far as programming the trunking systems. Now I just have to figure out how to split up the talk groups into different scan list so all 36ish talk groups are not on one scan list.
