WTF!!!

How do you use this Uniden software. I was able to enter in all the frequencies for the Kansas City, MO EDACS system. Then what do I do? I saw nowhere on there where to go to upload them to the scanner. Any help is appreciated as I still am not quite understanding how to set everything up due to this thing not using "banks" like I'm used to. I was really hoping this software would help me see the light there as well.

tried it...

OK I did everything it said and it's all communincating with my computer fine but when I click on the "Transfer" button the right window opens up, I click on "OK" then it acts like it is working but nothing gets transfered. HELP?

1) Registered or not?

2) When the Write to Scanner popup appears, it should show quantities for the systems, channel groups, channels, etc. Are the values non-zero?

3) You said "Nothing Happens." When the popup comes up, there are two buttons: OK (to proceed with the transfer) and CANCEL (to, well, cancel). When you click on OK, either close that window or move it out of the way. The left side of the main window should show the transfer progress, starting with "Erasing Scanner". Where does this description start to differ from your experience?

Non-registered. I do have it named "Conventional" and it does say "erasing scanner memory". But after about 30 seconds or so the scanner beeps, I look at it and it still says "scan hold, nothing stored". Everything acts like it should be working but it's not.

Better yet, post the usd and usc files. Easier to see this directly than trying to reinterpret.

hmm...

All values are zero and remain zero during the so called transfer. And when I press "scan" northing happens because there is nothing in the scanner! How would I go about posting those files? I am close to just giving up on Uniden software for good and waiting for the Butel stuff, in hopes that it at least works.

You don't register the software, AND complain about the limitations that a non-regged version has? The only problems I see are people who don't know the limitations (systems MUST be named Conventional, LTR, EDACS, or Mot in the non-regged version) or don't know how to use the software.

If all values are 0, then the software is doing exactly what it is supposed to. Before you get the Transfer info popup, you get another popup that tells you that the systems must have specific names in order to transfer when using the Demo version. That popup isn't kidding...

Did you not see that I DID and DO have the system named "Conventional"? And I tried it naming it "EDACS" as well.

Did you name THE SYSTEM FILE that, or did you just put that name IN the file (the SYSTEM NAME)? There is a difference, and I honestly don't know which the demo triggers on. Paul?
