WTWW Hit By Tornadoes?

Haven't heard them on 5085 for a few days. Assuming their trans site got hit? Didn't see anything on their website.

Haven't heard them or any news either....... I hadn't even considered they would have been affected, but you sure have me wondering now..

I haven’t heard them since the tornadoes. I was wondering if they changed frequencies. You may be right.

I dug a little and this link shows a wicked tornado cut a 50+ mile path and went straight through Lebanon, Tn. where WTWW's transmitters are.

Confirmed: 50.25 mile tornado went through Davidson, Wilson, and Smith Counties

The path of this tornado stretched 50.25 miles across Davidson, Wilson, and Smith counties.

What struck me was last night before bed, I tuned 5830 and it was on. I know they run different transmitters for different programming so I figure 5085's transmitter or antenna arrays or both got hit while the others did not. Sometimes tornadoes can be surgical MFrs.

I didn’t even know they broadcast on 5830! I will have to add that to my memory presets. what are the frequencies do they have?

I joined a group on Facebook. Apparently ‘The Big One’ 5085 made it on the air for a bit last night. They are saying it’s a power issue not damaged transmitters.

They’re up and running. They were booming in here In SW Arkansas at 60db until after sun down then they were gonzo. They had power issues for a couple days. No damage other than a few shingles missing. The tornado missed the radio station by 1500 feet.

I wish I could still hear them via shortwave tonight. It went from BOOMING to nil in an instant. I hate listening online. It’s like cheating. Lol!

I prefer shortwave too. I listen to the scanner and shortwave. Especially in the car!!
