I looked up the license for Wylie schools and see 5 UHF channels assigned. I can't find what type system they are using. WPLW676 is the call sign. Anyone have data on that system? I tried monitoring those frequencies and hear nothing. But my program shows channel 451.05 being hit.
451.05
452.6
453.0
456.05
458.0

Thanks;
David

For license WPLW676, frequency 451.0500 shows as a repeater at both locations.
Location 3 is at the football stadium. Location 4 is next to the Wylie PD station.

Frequency 453.0000 shows as a base transmitter, not a repeater, and is also located at the PD.

452.6000, 456.0500, & 458.0000 are licensed for use by mobile units,

Looking at the emission codes, 7K60FXW, indicated that this is a DMR (MotoTRBO) system.

Which scanner are you using? I would program 451.050, 452.6000, and 453.0000 as DMR channels. In the Whistler scanners, you can program these individually, leaving the color code, slot, and talkgroup as 'search' (not specified).

For the Uniden scanners, program them as individual sites in a One Frequency Trunked (OFT) system. Leave the color code at digital search, and do not specify a slot. In the OFT system, set it as ID Scan, that it will capture any active talkgroups.

After you monitor it a while, you'll probably see specific talkgroups, and perhaps slot numbers, assigned to individual schools (as well as the stadium). Since this is the summer, the system may not be very active, other than perhaps maintenance & facilities units working at one or more sites. If there is a specific talkgroup for the stadium, you might not see anything used at that specific location until students return in the fall, and games are scheduled at the stadium.

While not licensed as specifically a trunked system (not to be confused with an OFT), there is at least a possibility that they are using it as a system. That call sign is tagged as for use by building & grounds maintenance person ell,

Wylie also has another license, WPZT361. That is flagged for school building operations, maintenance, and security. It shows to be at the high school. The only base frequency, licensed as a repeater, is 462.2750. That is licensed both for DMR, as well as analog. My guess (and only a guess, since I am well out of range) is that they are using DMR, since the other licensed frequencies are tagged for DMR.

These frequencies are in a group where there are multiple other users licensed for the same frequency, in both Collin, Dallas, and Rockwall counties. so you'll need to listen to see if activity is school related, or a business. As Harold has noted, there might not be much activity until we get towards the end of the summer break.

They are using a Linked Capacity Plus system. Each school has its own site, with one also at the police station. There they have one radio dedicated to SRO channel on the LCP that is on the PAWM system i think as ops 2 for PD.. going of memory on that one.
So on the LCP system SRO keys up it also keys up the PD channel on the PAWM system.
