• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I have tried to read the mission plan and I keep getting this

Error - radio was programmed with a later version of the programming software.

I am using RPM R14C05 and the unit has been updated to R06T02

If you have no need to retain the current bandplan, you can revert to R14C05 just by programming a bandplan to the radio.
Don't read first, open RPM with a bandplan and program.
If you must save the current bandplan, you simply need RPM2 up and running.

One of the many things I prefer with Harris vs Motorola.

I am going to try that tomorrow on my XG-100M. I just got done converting a XG-75M into a dash mount and programming P25 Trunking channels to test it out before I finish the complete programming on it. I kind of had the same thing going on with that one also. But it’s working great now.

Yes just start from scratch with a new personality in 14C05 and write it in. No need to read first unless trying to save what's already in the radio.

@Jtcartwright are you familiar with the local P25 group and the Thursday night crew? Attending their winter field day this Saturday? See me there and I will walk you through some stuff with that radio.

I have heard of the MVP25. I am a member of DARA I just never attended any meetings since joining. I keep telling myself a will go Thursday nights but life happens (kids, wife, work) hopefully I can go this Saturday and make your acquaintance. I am on call for my job this weekend so I might not be able to stay very long. A friend gave me an partial unfinished mission plan “MVP25 3.0” that is for the XG-100P and I have added my own stuff to it. I use it as a base for other units I have acquired.

The very best thing you can do is meet with the person offering help, you will be glad you did.
