Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I have an XG-100P, and for some reason, it absolutely will not stay on the system I want. I’m using Enhanced CC. I have two systems, both at roughly the same distance, but no matter what I do, it won’t stay on System 1.

If I go outside, it switches to System 2. If I drive toward System 1, it might briefly switch but ultimately sticks to System 2. Both systems are set to Enhanced CC. I’ve tried ignoring sites, but then it just locks onto another site of System 2.

System 1 has 30 sites, so I can’t add many as “Never” Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Maybe your ID isn't allowed on "System 1".

I can't, but the reason the 100P is less than 500 is because its now 16 years old and almost everyone I touch has some level of failures. The biggest being bootscreen lockup and no recovery via IPL or even worse, the pigtail RF connector going dead rendering the portable also as useless. Meanwhile people are still trying to get $2k for APX7000s -_-

There are a few bad 100Ps out there but not that many. A friend got about 170 of them surplus and some are worn out from use with wobbly knobs, scratched screens and the like but I don't remember any having a boot up problem. Not to get too far off topic but I have APXs and in most cases prefer Harris. In fact today I just swapped the APX8500 in my truck back to an XG-100M because the Harris does things the APX cannot and never will. Plus if its stolen its cheap and I won't cry like getting an overpriced APX stolen.

So is it ok to help the OP try to figure out how to get his mission plans working?

The hate on harris is crazy.....
Take the M7300 same age as XTL stuff , works great even on the phase 2 systems of today with the right feature set. Try that with xtl or xts.

Anyway , to the OP , you may wanna try Dynamic proscan you have more control over the sites the radio listens to. Just my .02 cents 😀

Don't use ECC, use Fixed ProScan instead. You'll have better control on where the radio roams because you define which sites its are in the system scan list.

I've never used Dynamic ProScan myself, because I'm not sure if the radio built system scan list overrides user defined system scan list or how they interact with each other.

would you create like 5 or 6 different systems and name them the site names, then select them under dynamic and assign them all the group set?

Create as many systems as you wish, assign them to the "systems being scanned" remember they all must match up or wonky things happen when the radio wants to roam. Define a priority system if you wish, if you do so, the radio will always favor that system, so it should be the one that most often has the TG's you wish to listen to.

ill look into it, my ECC works great if you block all the sites of the other site. I have the one site in, then I block all the surrounding sites of other systems and it works fine.

ECC can work well on smaller systems, but the preferred system table is limited to 36 (?) entries, so it has a tendency to not work well for larger or statewide systems, or area where there are multiple DTR's in the same area.
