• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hi Everybody! I have a xts-2500 that I would like to set up for QC-II Paging, I have set everything (I believe) properly, and it still won't kick the radio to alert or unmute. Any input is greatly appreciated! Thank You In Advance!

Well what do you have set up?
Personality 161, Signalling QC-II, Unmute set to AND, call alert decode selected, Quick-Call II systems tab 1 Tone A 2361.7 Tone B 701.3. That info is remembered of the top of my head as I don't have my programming laptop in front me.
The radio will not alert for the tones, or even unmute, I'm sure its my error somewhere. Do I need to disable FPP for the zone?

Astro25 were always touchy when it came to decoding 2-tone. Make sure the channel deviation is set properly to narrowband, and the radio could possibly need alignment as well.

The XTS with QCII was weird, and even more weird with FPP throw into the mix, IIRC. Post screenshots of your current programming, to help remind those of us what the CPS looks like after 15 years. Flash-code, as well

The FPP (for some) seemed to be an unneccessary PITA, and ended up getting removed from most users. There were things like it had to be the last zone, it would delete zones after it if you toggled the flag, and more...(and for some silly reason, it's sticking in my mind that the FPP zone had trouble with signalling. I have no idea why that idea is there, but it is...)

Any chance the channel is set up as mixed-mode receive? I seem to recall that QCII will only work on analog channels.

Astro 25 radios require very tight tolerances for the paging tones to work. If the dispatch is overmodulation or slightly off will prevent the radio from alerting.
