• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Bought a couple used XTS2500's. I have a good knowledge of how to program my radios in CPS. However both radios came with over 94 conventional personalities across 6 zones that I am unable to delete, I learned that I am unable to delete them in CPS due to FPP being enabled. I am trying to figure out how to disable FPP in order to delete these channels and zones. I have both Astro CPS R20.01.00 and the equivalent version of Depot.

TLDR:

How do I disable FPP in order to delete conventional personalities, then re-enable FPP.

you don't, its a feature in the radio, and they came with one personality per channel. You have to set up each personality individually

Right but there are a ton of conventional personalities that I cannot delete through the CPS table across several zones. Would there be another reason why this would be occuring? In previous instances I've only seen one zone with FPP only channels standardly. I cannot use FPP to delete them either since the keypad is not working.

on my xts2500 codeplug I was able to disable FPP in the zone just now, and then I was able to add or delete channels and select a personality

I believe those were the older “AN” radios. My “BN” 2500’s only have the first zone FPP. 19 personalities total in the radio.
I've come across it on a BN radio. One of my 2500s had host version 9 when I got it and wouldn't allow any FPP zones to be deleted. Service menu shows BN at the end of the model number.

so should all the separate zones all have FPP-checked zone channel assignments?
