Yaesu FTA-450L Programming Issue

Hello all,
I'm attempting to program my new (to me) FTA-450L to my local airports via YCE01. The software is set to the correct device and COM port, but after 10-15 seconds after hitting "program to radio" I am given the error "Timeout!! (Sync)". I am not using a manufacturer cable as the kit I bought did not come with one. But I have had luck with previous devices (calculators and scanners) on this cable.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Some cables are data only, some are power only, and some do both.

If you have a number of USB cables, try them all. If none work, then I'd buy a Yaesu cable.

I have full confidence this is a data cable. Especially when my computer can read the device details in the COM Port settings

Did anyone determine a remedy? My FTA-450L times out while attempting to read the radio. This is the first attempt at reading or programming this radio. I am using the Yaesu programming cable supplied with the radio. I am technically competent. I have programed hundreds of Motorola portables, mobiles, and base stations. I can't find a cause for the failure to read the radio. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. R/ Joe

I have tried two different laptops. The device manager sees the radio on com port 4 and recognizes it as a FTA-450. It still times out. Both machines are 64 bit, one running Windows 10 Home and Windows 11 Home. No joy.

FOUND IT! Hold the menu key down while pressing the power switch. The display should say "CP MODE". The answer is in the programming software download PDF.

Beat me to it JGk101. I do not own 1 but looked in manual and saw that.
