Hello,

I'm currently using a Yaesu FTA-750 radio running firmware version 5.01, dated 2024.

However, the most recent programming software available on Yaesu's official website appears to be version V2.0.0.8 from 2014. Unfortunately, this software has compatibility issues with both Windows 10 and Windows 11—it launches but fails to communicate properly with the radio.

Does anyone know if there's a newer version of the programming software available that is compatible with modern operating systems? It seems unusual that Yaesu would still actively support a product without updating essential software for over a decade.

I've already contacted Yaesu support but haven't received a response yet.

Has anyone else experienced this issue or found a solution?

Thanks!

What's on Yaesu is it...
Be glad they actually have the aviation software at all, the Marine radios that have programming software they make you locate a "dealer".

I have a Yaesu FTA-250 and the YCE16 software.

With the FTA-250 you have to:

1) power the transceiver off
2) press and hold the Main/Set Button &
3) turn the device of to enter the PC programming mode.

If you don't do this then the software fails to connect with a Sync error.

You may have to do a similar set of incantations to get your FTA-750 into programming mode.

On a separate issue I'm not impressed with Yaesu with regards to NOT releasing the programming API, even under a Confidentiality / Non Disclosure agreement.

No manufacturers I’m aware of release the API for their commercial products; Yaesu, Motorola and Harris are just a few among many.

Well there are plenty of them that do. Look at all the scanner programming software on this site.

ProScan, FreeScan, Scan125 :) and so many more.

I don''t think Uniden are an exception.

We're not talking about ham radios and scanners, but rather commercial products. Two entirely different worlds.

Ham radios are a completely different kettle of fish to the commercial divisions of the radio manufacturers. Releasing the API for hobby radio products is not a problem, but releasing the API for commercial products like LMR, aviation or marine radios is another thing altogether. Might even be forbidden by regulation in many countries.

And scanners really don't matter; they don't transmit, therefore it's not an issue.

Fair comment / observation Tom. I had not really consider the relative differences.

Turning the radio on while holding the menu button did the trick. Not sure that is in the manual anywhere.

Hi, Pezking.

How did you get the v5.01 firmware? I can not found it in Yaesu website, and I currently need a firmware, v4.00 or higher, because I accidentally downgrade to v3.01 and now I can not make the x-ceiver work. I'd really appreciate a link or a zip file for getting a recent firmware.

Thank you.

Antonio.
