Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hi,
First post here, I just subscribed now in search of help. I couldn't find that information anywhere so maybe someone will be able to help

I just got a Zastone DP860 (dPMR);
Not sure if it qualifies as entry-level, probably, but feel free to move the topic at the right place if needed

That said, I found absolutely no information as to what kind of connector it uses for PTT

Nothing in the manual, nothing on Zastone websites, nothing on retailer pages

I thought it would be a Motorola 2-pin connector, but I just found out that while it does fit, and PTT button will trigger the transmission, the radio won't pick anything from the microphone

Looking at the USB programming cable, it looks like the Motorola 2-pin connector but with 3 leads per pins (2 black rings, instead of one)

From googling, it looks like it is the HYT PH-01 connector

Can anyone confirm that?
Also, does anyone know if it is possible to find or make an adapter that goes from Kenwood "K" or Motorola 2-0pins to make it work on that radio?

If not, I would be looking to find a Bone Conduction headset with PTT that would work with this

Thanks for the help!

Thanks for your reply

I also have the usb cable and it does work fine

In the meantime I could have some sort of confirmation that the headset connector is indeed Motorola M1 (commonly called Motorola 2-pin), as a few retailers told me they used the same as the Hytera TC-500 series

It happens that TC-500 and cie do use the Moto M1

So I guess I have the right cable after all

I now need to figure out if my cable has a problem or if the radio is defect I guess...

Dunno about the mic, mate. I read that they have some sort of design issue that makes it easy to burn the audio chip by shorting the accessory port, so i avoid plugging anything i don't have to into it.

That's interesting
Before buying I tried looking up reviews and what not but couldn't find anything

Since it was just a measly 40$ I told myself "wth let's try it and see"

But seeing how I cannot use my headset currently is a bit of a turn off :/

You couldn't find anything because the Zastone DP860 isnt the reference device. Check for Kirisun S780.

I thought the same thing. 40 bucks aint so bad. But i never use a mic either so its not a problem for me.

Thank you! I would also like to point that when the driver is installed in the computer, no other radio will be recognized. It will show a driver error. So everytime i need to sync my other ht (baofeng) it will give me a driver error message and will not connect to the pc wich means that I have to be installing and uninstalling the drivers for each radio....
