Zone 3

Hello. This post is for Steve Jones or for anyone else who might be able to tell me the answer to my question.

I was in the Sault on Friday (12th) and stayed overnight and while I was there, I brought my radio for TRUNK88 with me and when I was monitoring the Sault Ste Marie Fleetnet site, I went to check on it the neighbouring sites (ZONES) for around the Sault area by pressing (Ctrl N). When I did this, it brought up 3 neighbouring zones. 2 of these zones I already had labelled from the last time I brought the radio with me for TRUNK88 and this 3rd zone was supposedly a new zone, because it said (user name not defined) meaning I didn't label that zone yet with a name. For this 3rd zone I am talking about, on here (rr.com) for FLEETNET ZONE 3 page where it shows all the talkgroups and tower sites (ZONES), it only shows the zones going up to 56.

This 3rd zone that showed up when I did this was ZONE 57 and the Control Channel showing for it was: 142.620. So I am guessing this must be a new tower, site or zone that was put up in since the last time I brought the radio with me for TRUNK88 to the Sault. Because I never seen it before, otherwise I would have had it labelled with a name.

So if Steve Jones or anyone else on here can help me out and maybe give me an idea as to where abouts this new or supposedly new tower site (Zone) is. So I can maybe eventually go by that tower and figure out what the Voice Channels are for it and see who all uses it. I would appreciate it.

Kaarlo. I doubt anyone from 'down south' is going to be able to help you find this tower.
I know nothing about the north, perhaps someone up there will read this thread and provide information on this new tower.

Were you able to pick up anything on that frequency for Site 57? If so, throw TRUNK88 on it, and it'll spit out the site alias which would help a LOT in figuring out where it's located.

A friend of mine told me that maybe Steve Jones might know where every tower is located. That is why I was putting this out for him and for anyone else maybe that might be able to help me out.

Nope I was not able to because the radio I am using for TRUNK88, doesn't have that Control Channel programmed into it. And when I put it into my scanners, I wasn't able to pick it up. So I dunno where this new site is around Sault Ste. Marie. Would like to know.

So if anyone can still help me out I would appreciate it.

Zone 3 sites do not transmit a site alias.

That's weird. Zone 2 did from the get-go, then they went back and added them to Zone 1. Surprising they wouldn't have added them to Zone 3 (and 4) when they installed the sites.
