Working my way through the Uniden manual, ScannerMaster Easy Read manual and this awesome RR site & Wiki, but have a few questions I can't figure out.

1. When scanning, I hit a NOAA Weather Channel and it just holds on channel, probably as RX is continuous. Is there a way to set such channels maximum hold time when scanning? I'm just doing Temp Avoid for now, but would like it to hold XX-seconds and move on while scanning (but stay on when a WX Alert comes up).

2. BC-SGPS Kit - I set Baud rate to 9600, connected the GPS to the scanner and powered on, with the GPS module in the window. How can I confirm GPS lock or any GPS information?

Thanks!

To test GPS connectivity, what you can do is use a easy to remember zip code and dial it in, use 90210 (assuming you don't live in Beverley Hills.) Plug in the GPS unit, and give it a few, and it should switch to your locality. If it switches to your locality, it worked. If it doesn't, you'll need to check the baud rate again and play with it, and ensure the GPS unit is getting sufficient power.

That worked just great, thanks. I related from CA to NH in just a minute or two!
