We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

Since the first version of ARC536 (basic) I've run into this situation a number of times. I've finally been able to save a couple of error messages and have discussed this with Gommert. So far, he has not been able to determine what's going on.

I'm sharing this not as a criticism or Butel or Gommert, but in the hope that other users have had similar issues and can provide more information to figure out and fix the problems.

Error message one happens on saving a FL to hard drive. After this message pops up, the only way to close the program is to use Task Manager. When I reopen the program, the file header is still on my hard drive, but the data itself is gone. The only way I've been able to recover the file is by reading the scanner. Unfortunately, and updates or changes I've made are lost and have to be reentered.

Here is the first error message.

"There was an error saving this file: 35605/ This item's control has been deleted"

The other message seems to occur when attempting to write a file to the scanner. Despite having saved the updates I was typing in several times, the file never updated. Fortunately, the old version was not deleted and I was able to recover it and re enter the data.

Once again, I had to close ARC536 by using Task Manager.

Here is the second error message,

"There was an error saving this file: 52/Bad file name or number"

Has anyone else had similar experiences?

FWIW, I'm running the latest build.
